The number of new listings are data for the number of new real estate listings added to the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill (i.e. The Triangle) MLS area by month.

These data demonstrate the cyclic nature of when home sellers added or place their home for sale. Where new listings added to the market peak in the spring (March, April, May and June) then decline toward the winter months.

These data are a used to understand timings within the market and market delays. For example, if there is a surge in real estate for sale in March, then there will likely be a surge in the number of buyers 30 to 45 days later, as sellers become buyers.
